Love Thy Neighbor
Every once in a while you are fortunate to give back to those who had once helped you in the past.
Josie here. Last year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a working wife and mother of 3, this was unimaginably devastating news to our family. Gut punching news. At a time when we didn’t know what our future would would hold or how we were going to manage our daily lives much less our financial life, our neighbors Jenni, Carrie and their husbands organized a BBQ benefit on our behalf. From this, there was such an overwhelming amount of support and forever friendships made.
Jenni, Carrie and their husbands have been such a blessing to our family throughout the course of my treatment (even to this day almost 18 months later they are wholeheartedly there for us). I recalled one day while dropping off my kiddos at Jenni’s before a long day of chemotherapy that her front door had a pretty large crack and sun damage. When I got back in our truck I told Trevor I think I know what we can do to thank Jenni and Frank. We are getting them a new front door. Trevor quickly responded with absolutely. Time went by and life got busier and busier. Treatment became harder and harder. Jenni and Frank continued to help us whenever we needed it. Whether it was a school drop off/pick up, making sure our big kids got safely on the bus, overnights so we could make 5am surgeries, meal trains, a vent session, neighborhood dinners to take our mind off the heartache or just a place for our kids to hang out while I had some time to recover (and so much more). Whatever we needed they were there. Carrie and Tim too. They were the meal MVP’s on school pick ups or waiting with our youngest if I got stuck Austin traffic coming back from daily appointments. Carrie also always made sure to remind me that I was strong (which most days I I truly needed to hear that). As we continue on with life, we are reminded daily of the graciousness of our neighbors.
After all Jenni and Frank have done and continue to do for us, we were able to take time during quarantine to work with them to pick out a dreamy door, stain color and they topped it off with picking out a beautiful storm door. Trevor stained the door and we had our crew install the door once it was ready. Needless to say, this has been the most touching and special install we have done to date. We are so grateful we were able to return the love!
Jenni, Frank , Carrie and Tim are the prime examples of loving thy neighbor. They are the true hero’s and we can’t thank them enough for all they have done and continue to do for our family. We’re appreciative to have the opportunity to work with Jenni and Frank to turn their door dreams into a reality. One day, when the time presents itself we hope to be able to give back in the most meaningful way we can to Carrie and Tim too.
Stay tuned, as Clean Cut Windows and Doors is working everyday not only to give back to those who have once helped us but to those in need in uncertain, devastating and gut punching times!
