Doors & Windows Among The Top Values in The 2023 Cost Vs Value Report

Zonda Media recently released the 36th annual Cost vs. Value (CVV) report detailing the home renovations that deliver the best return on investment. True to form, this year’s report confirms a consistent truth that has been revealed on every report for the last 30 years: Exterior replacement projects typically provide a higher return on investment than interior discretionary remodels at the time of house sale.

You’ll notice in the above graphic, an entry front door is among the top 5 with 100.9% of total cost recouped. An entry front door adds great curb appeal as a centerpiece of your home, but also improves on energy efficiency for your home, allowing you to add a tax credit for the project for energy efficiency. Not much further down the list you’ll notice vinyl window replacement with 68.5% of the cost recovered. a 2023 tax credit is also available for windows due to their improved energy efficiency, allowing you to improve the look of your home and energy efficiency and saving money while doing so!

We pay close attention to these trends and this report when it drops every year. Time and time again this report shows that replacing your windows or doors is one of the best improvements you can choose to make for your home.
